The George Floyd Memorial Scholarship aligns with Minnesota State's Equity 2030 goals and WSU's core mission. This scholarship will provide a lasting resource for WSU students and future Warriors who are dedicated and driven to pursue leaderships roles in their desired career field. The mission of Winona State University is to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve. We will honor George Floyd’s legacy by continuing to educate and serve the next generation of diverse leaders to address injustice, systemic racism, and inequality and in its many forms.

Why are donations necessary?
Equity 2030 is a moral imperative, and an economic imperative for the state of Minnesota. The goal of Equity 2030 is to eliminate equity gaps in education. Financial resources and support for disadvantaged students is critical to the elimination of these graduation gaps (by race/ethnicity, socio-economic status, and first-generation).
